Testing tools, writing reports, developing software tools.

If paid, did the company you worked for pay you enough to live off of your salary or stipend, or did you have to supplement your income with personal funds?

Enough to eat out everyday for the entire year + buy auxiliary items, though still not particularly a whole lot. About half of what I was paid at internships in the US.
