After Arrival

Welcome to the Georgia Tech Atlanta campus!

On behalf of the entire Georgia Tech community, the Office of International Education and International Student and Scholar Services would like to welcome you to campus! International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), a division of the Office of International Education (OIE), is dedicated to ensuring that you have the information that you need before you travel to the United States, after you arrive, and throughout your time at Georgia Tech. It is our job to help you understand the regulations associated with your visa type, so that you are able to maintain status throughout your studies.

Below you will find information for all new international students at Georgia Tech. Please read this information carefully after your arrival on campus to ensure a seamless transition to Georgia Tech. Before your arrival, you should have started International Student Check-In and now that you are on campus, you will complete the process, register for classes, and begin to plan which International Student Welcome Week sessions and events you'll attend.

Your First Few Days:

ISSS advisors will be available to assist you with International Student Check-In during scheduled times (please visit check-in page for dates and times).  After completing International Student Check-In, your immigration/travel documents will be verified by an advisor and your hold class registration hold will be removed. All F-1 and J-1 students enrolling for the first time at Georgia Tech are required to attend a mandatory orientation session; please continue to check this website as dates and times will be updated as they are scheduled.

Completing International Student Check-In and attending OIE-sponsored sessions and events will ensure that your registration hold is removed, meet other new international students, and gain valuable information that will assist you upon arrival at GT and during the entire length of your studies.
